A Family With A Vision For Restoration

Hi there! We’re Chris and Anneliese Smucker, an entrepreneurial family with a passion for restoration! Both of us are from Millersburg, where we have chosen to raise our own children.

Chris: I grew up on a dairy farm just outside of town. Early on, I had a fascination for all things mechanical and seeing transformation. By observing my dad manage the farm and my mother oversee our household and greenhouses–now the remarkable Smucker Gardens–I learned the value of good, hard work. I honed my mechanical skills during my teenage years by working for some local companies and then launched my first business, Homeline Electric, at 21.

Anneliese: My family relocated to Millersburg during my middle school years, drawn by the community at a local church, Hillside Christian Fellowship. It was while participating in my church’s community events that my drive for restoration was born. Seeing my parents take time for whoever was in front of them, welcoming people into our home, and championing others to dream big and never give up, sparked my love for hospitality.

We're a family with a vision for restoration.

Since getting married, Homeline Electric has grown, and we have been purchasing homes for renovation, providing safe and clean housing for Millersburg residents. However, our most recent venture is the restoration of Thyme Hotel. We’re honored to play a role in reviving this community cornerstone, allowing it to once again be a place for families, friends, and travelers to gather and create cherished memories. Our mission is to contribute to the ongoing revitalization of our town and valley by serving people with excellence, fostering growth opportunities, and providing environments where every generation can prosper.

Millersburg is brimming with beauty and untapped potential. Businesses are opening and expanding, and more people are drawn to visit or settle in the area. Our town is experiencing a renewed sense of vision, and we firmly believe that the best days lie ahead!

So come, experience refreshment, find inspiration, and savor it all! We’re excited to meet you!

The Finney House

A year ago, we breathed new life into The Finney House, an 1850 farmhouse, transforming it into five fully furnished apartments for guests to enjoy. Visitors from near and far have traveled to our valley to explore and experience its beauty.
